R2C Group Selects PAF to Benefit from “heART” for Oregon Program

Portland Ad Federation Will Receive Profits from R2C Group Art Gallery

PORTLAND, Ore. – August 15, 2011 – R2C Group ®, the industry’s largest independent direct response advertising agency, today announced it has chosen the Portland Ad Federation (PAF) to benefit from the profits generated during the September 1, 2011 opening of the R2C Art Gallery.

This innovative community giving program, “heART for Oregon,” was designed to support and encourage creativity in the local art community, while also raising funds for area charities. R2C Group developed this unique program to build community in Portland by raising funds for local non-profit organizations, providing a forum for up-and-coming local artists to show artwork, and to present a venue for the community to view and purchase art offered at a lower price point.

At the center of the program is the R2C Gallery – an art gallery location in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District that will allow emerging local artists to reach new audiences located at 818 NW Flanders Street.

The gallery will be open to the public on “First Thursday” in September and R2C Group welcomes the public to the opening.

R2C Gallery Opening

How it works: local not-for-profit organizations

For each opening, R2C Group will choose a local organization to benefit from art sales at the R2C Gallery. A portion of all gallery profits from art sales generated at the gallery will be donated to the chosen not-for-profit organization.

PAF is a not for profit professional trade association that has a long history of innovation and forward thinking in advertising, marketing, communications, and commerce. Founded in 1906, it was the first advertising club in the United States. As it enters the 21st century, PAF is expanding its base to include not just ad agency members, but also professionals in media, interactive and digital communication, e-marketers, and client-side marketing. By constantly refreshing its role, PAF lives up to its mission to keep Portland’s creative community relevant and vigorous.

How it works: local artists

For each opening, R2C Group will choose a new local artist to be shown in the Art Gallery. In September, the gallery will feature 4 up-and-coming artists: David Brooks, Todd Conger, Jon Manning and Dylan Toomey. With painting, photography and mixed media from these new artists, the gallery is sure to inspire anyone.

The show will be curated by Maxwell Grove, an international curator who recently earned his bachelor of fine arts degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Call for nominations

R2C Groups seeks nominations for both emerging artists interested in showing their work at future openings of the R2C Gallery, as well as not-for-profit organizations interested in becoming a beneficiary. To nominate a local artist or non-profit organization for the “heart for Oregon” program, contact Elena Ardantz at gallery@r2cgroup.com for more information and guidelines for nominations.
