Short-Form Media Buyer

You will work directly with an assigned media assistant and report to the media director in our Portland office. Expect to work hard, have fun and be rewarded!
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven 2-4 years of short-form direct response media buying experience
- Specifically seeking buyer with extensive local broadcast market DR experience – provide specific examples of work, accomplishments, etc. as related to local campaigns
- Proven track record of delivering profitable media – references required
- Must be a solid multi-tasker with the ability to handle a large workload – multiple markets/stations, variety of campaigns/clients
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access (a plus)
- Experience with media tracking software – proprietary or out of the box
- Education: BS or BA
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge about all of their assigned DRTV vendors, their strengths & weaknesses, pricing and performance
- Manage assigned market/station list – responsible for hitting client targets, budgets:
- review daily/weekly/monthly results for assigned market list
- adjust schedules accordingly based on results
- update media director and client service team regarding schedule adjustments/marketplace conditions
- Develop/increase billing for markets/stations assigned to you
- Regularly offer up test and firesale opportunities to the client service staff – “sell” them on the media
- Attend and participate in short-form department meetings as required – both internal and client related when necessary
- Work in a timely manner with assistant to resolve discrepancies during monthly reconciliation process
- Develop and maintain good relationships with all networks and stations
- Make marketing trips to visit networks/stations as well as attend industry events (ERA, Response Expo) when necessary
